Our Story

We met at a friend's dinner party in Brooklyn in the fall of 2021. James spilled wine on Sarah's jacket, insisted on paying the dry-cleaning bill, and somehow turned a small disaster into a first date. Four years, two apartments, and one very patient cat later, James proposed on a rainy Tuesday morning in Fort Greene Park -- no ring, no plan, just the question. Sarah said yes before he finished asking.

The Greenwood Estate, 42 River Road, Cold Spring, NY 10516
The estate is located 60 miles north of Manhattan in the Hudson Valley. From the Taconic State Parkway, take exit for Route 301 West, then follow signs to River Road. On-site parking is available for 120 cars. The ceremony and cocktails are outdoors on the garden grounds; the reception moves indoors to the Grand Hall. The venue is wheelchair-accessible throughout.

We've reserved a block of rooms at a group rate; mention "Chen-Okafor Wedding" when booking. (845) 265-9355. **The Roundhouse** — 2 East Main Street, Beacon, NY. 20-minute drive, right on the waterfront. Boutique rooms with river views. **Getting there:** The closest airport is Stewart International (SWF), 25 minutes away. From NYC, Metro-North runs to Cold Spring station (75 minutes from Grand Central); we'll have a shuttle from the station at 3:00 PM. **Parking:** Free on-site parking for 120 cars. Please follow the signs from River Road.
