Our Story

Saffron & Smoke started with a simple idea: cook the North Indian food we grew up eating, with the best ingredients we can find. Chef **Aanya Kapoor** opened the doors in 2018 after fifteen years in kitchens across Delhi, Amritsar, and Chicago. The marinades are ground fresh every morning. The kebabs come out of a clay tandoor we fire by hand. The bar leans toward spice-forward cocktails, with a few surprises from small distillers we visit every year. We don't take shortcuts, and we don't rush. Dinner here is meant to feel like dinner at a friend's house — if your friend happened to be a very good cook.
