Comal Doce
Masa-forward tacos, mezcal flights, and weekend mole in the heart of East Austin since 2018.
Reserve a TableOur Story
Comal Doce started with a simple idea: cook the food we grew up eating, with the best ingredients we can find.
Chef **Lucía Domínguez** opened the doors in 2018 after years cooking across Oaxaca City, Mexico City, and Austin. The masa is nixtamalized and pressed fresh every morning. The mole simmers for two days from chiles we grind by hand. The mezcal list leans Oaxacan, with a few surprises from small palenques we visit every year.
We don't take shortcuts, and we don't rush. Dinner here is meant to feel like dinner at a friend's house — if your friend happened to be a very good cook.
